ACCESSIBILITY ONTARIO

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Policy:
Nigozy is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all Ontarians in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

PURPOSE

The goal of this policy is to outline Nigozy’s standards, practices, and commitments that support accessibility for Ontarians with disabilities. In alignment with AODA (2005), we ensure that employees, job seekers, volunteers, clients, and partners all receive equal access to our services.
We strive to uphold the principles of dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity by reducing barriers that limit participation in employment and staffing services.

POLICY

Our accessibility policy focuses on eliminating obstacles that prevent individuals with disabilities from accessing services. This includes ensuring availability of assistive devices, alternate methods of communication, service animals, and support persons when needed.

PRACTICES, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Nigozy develops policies and processes that remain flexible, allowing us to adapt to the needs of individuals with disabilities. We guarantee that all services are delivered in a way that promotes equal opportunities—whether physical, technological, or otherwise.

ASSISTIVE DEVICES

People with disabilities are welcome to use personal assistive devices when accessing Nigozy’s services.
Assistive devices can include mobility aids, wheelchairs, screen readers, or listening devices, depending on individual needs.

Definition of Disability (AODA & Ontario Human Rights Code)

A disability may include:

  • Any physical condition, illness, or impairment that affects mobility, coordination, vision, hearing, or communication.

  • Mental health disorders, learning disabilities, or developmental conditions.

  • Injuries or disabilities covered under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.

  • Temporary or permanent physical limitations.

GUIDE DOG

Guide dogs, as defined under Ontario regulation, are welcome on Nigozy premises. They are trained service animals that provide mobility, safety, and independence to individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

SERVICE ANIMAL

A service animal is recognized if it is visibly identifiable or confirmed in writing by a qualified healthcare professional. Service animals assist individuals with daily living, mobility, or medical needs.

SUPPORT PERSON

Individuals with disabilities may be accompanied by a support person when accessing services at Nigozy. This may include assistance with communication, mobility, medical care, or emergency needs.

EMPLOYEE TRAINING

Nigozy ensures that all staff interacting with the public are trained to properly serve individuals with disabilities.
Training covers:

  • Our accessibility policies and procedures.

  • How to communicate effectively with people with different types of disabilities.

  • How to support individuals who use assistive devices, service animals, or support persons.

  • Best practices for inclusive, respectful service delivery.

Documenting Training

Records of training sessions—including dates, topics, and attendance—are maintained to ensure compliance with AODA requirements and to improve accessibility practices on an ongoing basis.
